ECMA nominated ground breaking album of two guitar giants!
Recorded literally in one take.
Wriggle and Writhe is an unexpected union between two masterful musicians who’ve long played key support roles in other line-ups. An extraordinarily versatile and unpredictable guitarist and button accordion player, Tim Edey has forged his formidable reputation on the back of singular contributions to any number of Celtic acts, notably Sharon Shannon, Lunasa, Mike McGoldrick, Altan and Capercaillie. New Zealander Brendan Power, meanwhile, has a bulging harmonica CV which lists Kate Bush, Sting, Van Morrison and most of Ireland’s folk royalty among his collaborators.
Tim Edey's debut album self funded, produced & recorded by Tim himself, featuring guest musicians Michael McGoldrick - flute&whistles & Lucy Randall - percussion. Tim plays every other instrument on the cd, and it is as groundbreaking in traditional music today as it was in 2001 when just out of his teens he recorded it on a Roland VS1880 machine in bedrooms, train stations, a boat & McGoldrick's house.
Most tracks initially recorded live by Tim Edey at Seamus's birthplace and home Baile nBoc a few miles west of Dingle, co Kerry.
With additional live recording by Cian Loughnane in the Sibin with the west Kerry set.
Then the invaluable help of Donogh Hennessy whom took Tim's hard drive edited, mixed & came up with the final edition we have now. credits released January 1, 2010
